How to update your name, photo, bio and what other users can see.

How do I update my profile?

Go to Account → Profile. From there you can update your display name, username, bio, profile photo, and general location. Changes save immediately when you click Save.

How do I change my profile photo?

On the Account → Profile page, click your current photo (or the placeholder avatar) to upload a new one. We recommend a clear, square photo — it will be cropped to a circle when displayed.

Can I change my username?

Yes. Your username can be changed from Account → Profile. Usernames must be unique across AquaLots and can only contain letters, numbers, hyphens and underscores. Once changed, your old username becomes available for others to use.

What is the difference between my display name and my username?

Your display name is the name shown on your listings and in messages — it can be your real name or anything you prefer. Your username is your unique handle (shown in your profile URL) and is used to identify your account.

What information is visible to other users?

Other users can see your display name, username, profile photo, bio, general location (town or county — never your exact address), seller rating, and the number of listings you've posted. Your email address and full address are never shown publicly.

How do I set my location?

You can set a general location (e.g. "Manchester" or "West Yorkshire") on your profile page. This helps buyers understand roughly where you're based for shipping estimates. Only a general area is shown — not your street address.

What should I write in my bio?

Your bio is a chance to introduce yourself to potential buyers. A good bio includes what species you keep, how long you've been in the hobby, and any specialisms (e.g. breeding, planted tanks, marines). A genuine bio builds buyer trust.

Can I see my own public profile?

Yes — go to Account → Profile and click "View public profile" to see exactly what other users see when they visit your profile page.
