Making Offers

Negotiate directly with sellers on eligible listings.

What is Make an Offer?

Make an Offer lets you propose a price lower than the listed Buy Now price. The seller can then accept, decline, or come back with a counter-offer. It's a way to negotiate directly with the seller before committing to a purchase.

How do I make an offer?

On any listing that has Make an Offer enabled, you'll see an "Make an Offer" button. Click it, enter the amount you'd like to offer, and submit. The seller will be notified immediately and has 48 hours to respond.

How long does the seller have to respond?

Sellers have 48 hours to accept, decline, or counter your offer. If they don't respond within that window, your offer expires automatically and no payment is taken.

What if the seller makes a counter-offer?

If the seller counters, you'll receive a notification with their proposed price. You can then accept the counter-offer — which takes you straight to checkout — or decline it. You are under no obligation to accept a counter.

Can I withdraw an offer?

Yes, you can withdraw an offer at any time before the seller responds. Once the seller accepts your offer (or you accept their counter-offer), it becomes a binding transaction and you'll be taken to checkout.

Can I make offers on auction listings?

No. Make an Offer is only available on fixed-price listings where the seller has specifically enabled it. Auction listings use the bidding system instead.

What happens when my offer is accepted?

You'll receive a notification confirming the offer has been accepted and you'll be directed to checkout to complete payment. The agreed price — not the original listed price — is what you'll pay, plus the standard buyer fee.

Is there a limit to how many offers I can make?

You can only have one active offer per listing at a time. If your offer is declined or expires, you're welcome to submit a new one.
