What AquaLots charges, how Stripe payouts work, and tax basics.
How much does it cost to list on AquaLots?
Listing is completely free. There are no upfront costs to create a listing, regardless of whether it sells.
Does AquaLots charge sellers any fees?
No — it is completely free to sell on AquaLots. There are no listing fees, final value fees, or seller commissions. You receive the full item price plus any shipping costs. A small platform fee is charged to the buyer at checkout, not the seller.
How do payouts work?
All payments are processed by Stripe. When a buyer completes checkout, the funds are held briefly while the order is in progress. Once delivery is confirmed, Stripe releases the payout to your connected bank account.
How long does it take to receive my payout?
Stripe pays out on a rolling schedule — typically every 2–7 business days after a transaction is complete. You can check your payout schedule in Account → Payments.
How do I connect my bank account to receive payouts?
Go to Account → Seller → Connect with Stripe. You'll be taken through Stripe's onboarding to verify your identity and link your UK bank account. You must complete this before any of your listings can receive payments.
What happens to my payout if a dispute is raised?
If a buyer raises a dispute, the relevant payout is placed on hold until the dispute is resolved. If the dispute is found in the seller's favour, the payout is released. If it's found in the buyer's favour, a refund is issued.
Do I need to declare my sales for tax?
If your gross trading income from selling (across all platforms) exceeds £1,000 in a tax year, you are required to register for Self Assessment with HMRC. The £1,000 trading allowance means income at or below this threshold is tax-free. If in doubt, speak to an accountant or check HMRC's guidance on trading income.
